Royal Enfield First Flexi Fuel Bike: Royal Enfield, which produces and sells ‘Shaan Ki Sawaari’ motorcycles in India, has introduced its first bike running on flax fuel on Thursday, February 1, 2024. The company has unveiled the Classic 350 Flex Fuel at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 held at Pragati Maidan, Delhi.

According to media reports, Royal Enfield has given a new green and red color scheme to the Classic 350 to differentiate it from its standard models. These paints can be seen on the fuel tank and side panels of the bike. The Classic 350 Flex Fuel is powered by a 350C single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which produces 20bhp at 6100rpm and 27Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm.
What is flax fuel?
In India, as an alternative to petrol and diesel, vehicles running on green energy as well as gas and ethanol are being launched in the market on an experimental basis. Among these fuels, flax fuel is prepared by mixing petrol and ethanol. At present, about 10 percent ethanol is mixed in petrol at petrol pumps in the country. The government aims to take ethanol blended petrol to 25 percent by 2025.

The price of Royal Enfield Classic 350 starts at Rs 1.90 lakh, ex-showroom India, going up to Rs 2.21 lakh. It comes in single channel ABS and dual channel ABS variants. This cruiser bike has a 350 cc single cylinder 4-stroke air-cooled engine, whose power output is 20.2 PS and 27 Nm. It has a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. Its curb weight is 195 kg. The fuel tank capacity of this bike is 13 liters. The certified mileage of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycle is 36.2 kmpl.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 Suspension and Brakes
This motorcycle has telescopic suspension (41 mm fork, 130 mm travel) at the front, while at the rear it gets twin tube emulsion shock absorber suspension with 6-step adjustable preload. For braking duty, it has been provided with 300 mm disc brakes (twin piston floating calliper) at the front, while at the rear it has 270 mm disc brakes (single piston floating calliper) and 153 mm drum brakes. This bike comes with single and dual channel ABS. For riding, it has 100/90- 19-57P spoke and alloy wheels and 120/80-18-62P size tires on the front and rear sides respectively.

The feature list of Royal Enfield Classic 350 includes analog and digital instrument cluster, USB charging port, navigation, digital odometer, service due indicator, pass switch, engine kill switch, low fuel indicator, bulb type turn signal lamp and halogen headlight etc. In the market, it competes with TVS Ronin 225, Benelli Imperiale, Jawa Perak, Yezdi Scrambler and Yezdi Roadster.
