Osasuna, Barcelona book Copa del Rey semi-finals

Pamplona | Osasuna advanced to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey after beating Sevilla 2-1 on Wednesday night. Chimi Avila opened the scoring after a knockdown from substitute Ruben Garcia in the 70th minute of the match, reports Xinhua news agency. Sevilla controlled the first half and Osasuna were the better team after the break.

However, just when it looked as if Pamplona’s side had booked their place in the last four, Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesri scored an equalizer in the 95th minute to force the match into extra time as He headed Suso’s cross into the goal from close range. Osasuna scored the winning goal in extra time to give the local supporters a chance to celebrate.

Barcelona also reached the semi-finals after beating Real Sociedad 1-0 at the Camp Nou Stadium.(IANS)
