Announcing his retirement, 38-year-old Wahab wrote on social media that ‘I am withdrawing from the international pitch … After a wonderful journey, I have now decided to retire from international cricket. Thank you so much to the Pakistan Cricket Board, my family, coaches, mentors, all my teammates, fans and everyone who supports me. I am excited to play franchise cricket.
Even though Wahab has said goodbye to international cricket, he has decided to continue in franchise cricket. Significantly, Wahab was part of the Peshawar Zalmi team in this season of the Pakistan Cricket League. Apart from this, he was also a part of the Champions Trophy winning Pakistan cricket team in the year 2017.
