Pakistan unveils new jersey ahead of Men’s ODI World Cup

Lahore. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the brand new jersey for the senior men’s team ahead of the upcoming Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 at a launch event on Monday.
It is being called the ‘Star Nation Jersey’. The jersey was unveiled at a grand ceremony led by Zaka Ashraf, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.
Zaka Ashraf said, “The Star Nation jersey is testimony to the enduring bond between our cricketers and the ardent fans who stand by the team at every match. This jersey reflects our rich cricketing heritage and bright future.
The PCB said that the Star Nation jersey is also available for pre-order on the internet. It is not just a garment, it is a symbol of the deep bond between Pakistan’s cricket heroes and their staunch supporters.
Taking inspiration from the celestial bodies, each of its stars symbolizes the bright glow of talent, aspiration and cricketing achievements. The design philosophy encapsulates the spirit of cricket excellence, which strikes a chord with every Pakistani cricket lover.
The top-ranked Pakistani ODI team will feature in the Asia Cup from August 30 to September 17. Tournament co-hosts Pakistan will open the competition by playing Nepal on August 30 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. After this, Pakistan will face arch-rivals India on September 2 at Pallekele.
The top two teams from Groups A and B will advance to the Super Four, where they will play three more games at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The final will also be played here on 17 September.
Whereas, Pakistan will open the Men’s ODI World Cup tournament against the Netherlands on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal) in Hyderabad. Then, it will take on Sri Lanka on October 10 in Uppal itself.
