Mumbai : Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant on Monday tweeted for the first time after his narrow escape from a road accident that his knee surgery was successful and he is recovering well. Pant tweeted, “I am humbled and grateful for all the support and wishes. I am happy to inform you that my surgery was successful. My recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead.
I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Pant took the occasion to thank the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), secretary Jay Shah and the administration for their help. Addressing his fans, he said, “From the bottom of my heart, I would also like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors and physios for their kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to seeing you all on the field.
Significantly, Pant had become a victim of a road accident on December 30, 2022 while going from Delhi to his home in Roorkee. He survived the accident, although all three ligaments in his knee were torn. After the accident, he was kept at Max Hospital in Dehradun for a few days, after which the BCCI airlifted him to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He underwent knee surgery here under the supervision of Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala and is now on the way to recovery.
