Lucknow, 26 November (HS). Preparations for the Syed Modi India International Badminton Championship HSBC World Tour Super 300 have been completed. The matches of this championship will be played from 28th November to 3rd December at Babu Banarasi Das Badminton Academy located in Gomti Nagar. In this championship organized by Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association under the aegis of Badminton Association of India (BAI), a total prize money of US $ 2,10,000 will be distributed among the players.

The main draw matches will start at 4 pm on the same day. Spectators will be given free entry in this tournament.
Eight qualifying matches will be played in all events. He told that 250 players from 18 countries will present their challenge in this championship. This includes players from countries like India, China, Japan, Malaysia, Denmark, Taiwan, Thailand, Germany, England, Indonesia, Singapore, Israel, Kazakhstan, Australia, France, Sri Lanka, Poland, Iran etc. Many top ranking players among these players will also present a challenge. The semi-final and final matches of this championship will be telecast live on Doordarshan.
In the main draw matches of the Championship, India’s HS Prannoy – World 8th ranked and Lakshya Sen – World 17th ranked will challenge in men’s singles. For the practice of the players, practice facilities have been provided in the badminton courts located at KD Singh Babu Stadium and Gomtinagar Vijayant Khand Stadium. Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association Secretary Sudharma Singh said that the championship will be inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on November 28 at 10 am. On this occasion, the special guests will be Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak and Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Sports – Independent Charge Girish Chandra Yadav.
The main referees in the championship will be Josef Kuprivec of Slovenia from BWF and the assistant referee will be Astovija Lujmoi of Estonia. He told that in the qualifying matches of this championship, Samriddhi Singh, Sonali Singh, Ayush Aggarwal, Shruti Mishra of Uttar Pradesh will present the challenge.
