New Delhi (Best Hindu News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated boxers Lovlina Borgohain and Nikhat Zareen for winning gold medals at the Boxing World Championships. In a tweet, he said, “Congratulations to Lovlina Bogorhai for her stupendous performance at the Boxing World Championships. He showed great skill. India is happy for his gold medal win.
Congratulating Zareen for her stupendous win in the 50kg light flyweight category at the World Boxing Championships, he tweeted, “Congratulations to Nikhat Zareen for a stupendous win and gold at the World Boxing Championships.” He is a champion par excellence whose success has made India proud on many occasions.
Both Zareen and Borgohain made it a golden Sunday for India at the Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi. While Zareen won gold in the 50kg category, Borgohain bagged the yellow metal in the 75kg category.
Zareen won the final bout against Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam 5-0 to win India’s third gold in the tournament, before Lovlina Borgohain won the title with a 5-2 split decision against Caitlin Parker of Australia. Won the match.
