New Delhi . Para Asian Games gold medalist and India’s most decorated badminton star Pramod Bhagat continued his stellar performance by clinching a gold medal in the SL3 singles category at the recently concluded Hulik Daihatsu Japan Para-Badminton International 2023.
The top shuttler defeated India’s Manoj Sarkar in straight sets.
Pramod Bhagat made a good start in the match and quickly won the first set with the score of 21-16. Manoj made a strong comeback in the second game but Pramod had every answer to the challenges given by Manoj. Pramod won the second set 21-19. The match lasted for 38 minutes and the final score was 21-16 and 21-19.
In the mixed doubles, Pramod Bhagat and Manisha Ramdas lost to the Chinese pair of Yang Jianyuan and Yang Qiu Xia in a tough 3-setter, with the final score being 21-14, 15-21 and 21-16 in favor of the Chinese team.
Sukant Kadam, on the other hand, lost to Malaysia’s Mohammad Amin Burhanuddin in the semi-finals and won the bronze medal in the singles SL4 category. Even Tarun won a bronze medal in the same category.
