Wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia alleged that the WFI chief is now resorting to muscle power and trying to break the ‘victims’ through threats and bribes.
Police reveal the names of the victims
Vinesh Phogat claimed that the Delhi Police leaked the names of the victims to Brij Bhushan, who is using Haryana Wrestling Federation general secretary Rakesh and coach Mahabir Prasad Bishnoi to intimidate the families of women wrestlers who have filed complaints against the wrestling federation chief. Complaint has been lodged against. Vinesh told reporters that Brij Bhushan now knows the names of the complainants. Delhi Police has leaked their names. They are giving threats. They are trying to break the victims and hence there is a delay in registering the FIR.
Justice was not received from the Sports Ministry
He said that we had thought that the Sports Ministry would give us justice but it did not happen. But we have faith in the judiciary. If the Supreme Court takes over everything related to this matter, then we are sure that no game will be played, only then we will leave the protest site. Vinesh said that if only one FIR is lodged then we will not leave from here. He needs to be put behind bars. If he stays outside, we will not be safe. If he is roaming in the open then how will we do the training. Will they be satisfied if the police register an FIR and start an investigation?
Coach Mahabir Prasad denied the allegations
Vinesh said that there are hundreds and thousands of FIRs registered against people but it is a question of justice. When we are sure that we will not be misled, we will end the protest, otherwise we are standing here. Coach Mahabir Prasad denied the allegations. Mahabir Prasad told PTI that I do not know who are the victims. I am being dragged into this because I refused to take the side of the wrestlers. They wanted me to stay with them in protest but I told them that they are dear to me and I can help with the coaching part even if they call me early in the morning but I will not stand aside as the federation has helped me in my career as well have helped me.
