PSL 2023: Pakistan got second Inzamam-ul-Haq, this son of former cricketer left the axle in PSL

Karachi: Azam, son of former Pakistan cricket team cricketer Moin Khan, is making headlines in the Pakistan Super League. Azam Khan plays for Islamabad United in PSL. Azam Khan batted smoky in his first match of this season. In the match against Karachi Kings, Azam scored 44 runs in 28 balls in which he also hit 6 fours and a six. Due to his strong innings, Islamabad won by 4 wickets.

In Pakistan, Azam Khan is being compared to former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq. Because despite having a heavy body, Azam Khan is identified as a hard-hitting batsman. In Pakistan Super League, Azam Khan has also played for Quetta Gladiators before Islamabad United.

Due to his fast batting, he has also got a chance to debut in T20 International for Pakistan. However, he got the opportunity to play only in three matches. On the other hand, if we look at Azam Khan’s statistics in T20, he has played 101 matches in which he has scored 2006 runs at an average of 140.96.

Azam Khan has also scored 10 half-centuries and one century in T20. His highest score in this format is 109 not out. Apart from Pakistan Super League, Azam Khan has also played in Caribbean Premier League and Bangladesh Premier League. Apart from T20, Azam Khan has played 16 First Class and 22 List A matches. Azam Khan has scored 739 runs in First Class while he has 469 runs in List A.

Azam shines in Islamabad’s strong victory

In PSL, Islamabad United’s team landed on the ground to play their first match against Karachi Kings. Batting first in the match, the team of Karachi Kings scored 173 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs game. Haider Ali scored the highest innings of 59 runs in the match for Karachi.

In response to Karachi’s 174 runs, Islamabad’s start was nothing special. Both the opener batsmen returned to the pavilion for just 21 runs. However, after this, Colin Munro and Azam Khan played a stormy innings and gave Islamabad a 4-wicket win with 8 balls to spare.
