In fact, according to a report, due to financial constraints, all the matches of the Pakistan Super League being played in the country will now be held in a single venue, Karachi. When the PSL schedule was announced, apart from Karachi, the names of Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi were also included.

Actually, there has been a dispute with the Pakistan Cricket Board and the government of Punjab province regarding money, due to which now all the matches of Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi can be shifted to Karachi. A meeting was to be held on the issue with the franchisees on Friday after which a final decision on changing the venue was to be taken.

In fact, the whole controversy surrounding the Pakistan Super League is how to split the security costs involved in hosting the tournament. The Punjab government has demanded the PCB pay 450 million Pakistani rupees in security costs for hosting the tournament in Lahore and Rawalpindi. That amount also includes the cost to be borne by the government for hosting the matches in Multan.

At the same time, there was an agreement with the previous government of Pakistan to pay only 50 million Pakistani rupees. In such a situation, it may be very difficult for the PCB to pay the amount demanded by the Punjab government.

Security personnel are also facing problems in food

According to a Pakistan Cricket Board official, the Sindh government is not required to pay a part of the security cost and only requires remuneration for catering to the security personnel, the total cost of which is approximately 30 million Pakistani rupees, but the government has agreed to the old agreement as soon as possible. Due to the cancellation of the PCB, now a new problem has arisen in front of the PCB.

The PCB is ready to bear the cost of catering according to the old agreement while it is not accepting the proposal of the new bill for security. The PCB believes that the responsibility of security arrangements rests with the local government. A PCB official said that the government had earlier also taken up security for hosting cricket in the province. On the other hand, talks are on between the PCB and the PSL franchises on how to resolve this whole issue.
