United beat Zalmi by 6 wickets
Rassie van der Dussen top-scored for United with a 29-ball 42 as United won by six wickets. Despite playing a good innings for his side, captain Babar Azam faced a lot of criticism for his low strike rate. However, when he was asked about this during the post-match press conference, the Pakistan captain gave a funny reply to the reporter.
Babar Azam gave this answer
Babar said that how much more good do you want? make 300? Let’s try. Babar said that when the strike rate is good, things happen even then, this thing does not matter. First 10 overs my strike rate was around 160, but when 6 batsmen are out, you don’t try there strike rate to reach 200. Here I will try to build a partnership. I had the same plan in today’s innings as well.
Big partnership was planned
Babar said that when you are going at a certain pace, you try to carry it for a long time. Unless it falls a wicket or two. My plan was to build a partnership after 10 overs as I told Shanaka that we will play normally for 15 overs and then take charge. Then we lost back-to-back wickets and in the process the strike rate might come down. This was the second defeat of Peshawar Zalmi in the current season of PSL. They will now take on Lahore Qalandars in their next match on Sunday.
