Davis Cupper Ramkumar Ramanathan and India’s number two Mukund Sasikumar will spearhead the Indian challenge at the ITF Mysuru Open 2023, starting here on Monday. The Karnataka Lawn Tennis Association is hosting the tournament. The $25,000 prize money F6 Futures tournament marks the return of ITF tennis after eight years.
Ramkumar was the winner of the last tournament held here in 2015. Siddharth Rawat, Digvijay Pratap Singh, Manish Sureshkumar, Nikki Poonacha and Karan Singh will be among the other Indians participating in the tournament. Russian player Evgeni Donko, who shot to fame by defeating Swiss star Roger Federer at the Dubai Tennis Championships in 2017, will be the star attraction of the tournament. Vietnam’s Ly Hoang Nam and America’s Oliver Crawford will also be vying for the top spot in the tournament. Local player SD Prajwal Dev will also be hoping to clinch an ITF title after his recent performances.
