Brown sugar traders openly threaten the police
The people of the area claim that whenever they refuse to do this work to the people engaged in the brown sugar business, they openly threaten them. A few months ago, a police inspector had come to take his child from a reputed hostel located on Vidyanagar School Street. He saw that some people were selling brown sugar. He warned them that he would arrest everyone and send them to jail. On this the drug peddler said: You will send me to jail, we will make you remove your uniform. Only a few give Rs 5 lakh for free to the police every month.
Women do not go out in the evening due to fear of drug addicts
The enlightened people of the area say that after consuming brown sugar, the youth start abusing and fighting among themselves. They molest women passing on the road. Even incidents of snatching have happened with some women. If an elderly person tries to stop a drug addict, he or she is also treated unfairly.
Eight point brown sugar cost Rs 500
Relatives of the victim youth say that in Sukhdevnagar police station area, the price of eight points (the amount of gunpowder on a match stick) of brown sugar is Rs 500. On an average, a young man consumes brown sugar four to five times in 24 hours. That means every addict uses brown sugar worth two to two and a half thousand rupees daily.

Brown sugar is solid or in frozen form. The drug addict places brown sugar on aluminum foil and heats it by lighting a match stick from below, due to which the brown sugar turns into smoke. He inhales this smoke through his mouth. Then he drinks fruit or eats chocolate, so that the intoxication increases rapidly. After this, to increase the intoxication, he smokes a separate cigarette or beedi. A young drug addict said that as soon as brown sugar enters the body, it feels as if it is flying in the air. Consuming brown sugar causes watering of eyes and nose.
