Ranchi: ‘Khelo Jharkhand’ concluded in Khelgaon, more than two thousand players will participate in the National School Sports Competition

Ranchi: Under the aegis of Jharkhand Education Project Council by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Jharkhand. Ranchi State level Khelo Jharkhand swimming competition was concluded at Veer Budhu Bhagat Stadium located in Khelgaon. At the conclusion of the state level swimming competition under Khelo Jharkhand, State Program Officer Dhirsen Soreng, Jharkhand Swimming Association President Barkha Sinha, General Secretary Upendra Tiwari, Senior Vice President Shailendra Kumar Tiwari presented medals and certificates to the winners. The program was conducted by Mohd. Javed Ansari. Congratulating the officials for the successful organization of Khelo Jharkhand program, Education Secretary K Ravi Kumar and State Project Director Kiran Kumari Pasi said that this year the Jharkhand team will give the best performance so far in the National School Games. Along with this, it will also be successful in keeping its position higher in the medal table.
More than two thousand players will participate in the National School Games 2023-24
With the conclusion of the swimming competition, Khelo Jharkhand 2023-24 also concluded. While 35,000 schools participated at the school level under the Khelo Jharkhand programme, more than 40 lakh children in all the divisions of the state participated in various sports and ensured their participation at the district and state level. State Program Officer Dhirsen Soreng said that about 15,000 children from all the districts of the state participated in 29 different sports at the state level in the age group of boys and girls under 14, 17 and 19. More than two thousand children participated at the state level in sports like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, athletics.
21 days special training camp
A special training camp of 21 days is being organized for the selected children in all categories. Players of the state have won two silver medals in Under-14 and 17 freestyle wrestling held in Vidisha, while in Under-19 boys football held in Srinagar, they performed brilliantly in the league round and entered the knockout stage by winning all their three matches. Where faced defeat in the penalty shootout. Under 14 State Judo team will leave from Ramgarh Cantt on 12th November to participate in the competition organized in Jammu from 15th to 19th November. A camp is going on in JCERC campus for Under 17 Yogasana to be held in Tripura. The team will leave on 19 November.
Letter issued for training camp
State Education Project has announced the date of organizing training camps for various sports. There will be a training camp for Kho-Kho from 14th November, Tennis and Badminton from 20th November, Athletics from 22nd November and Volleyball from 1st December. Training camps for other sports will be organized after confirming the National date by SGFI.
Jharkhand team will perform better in national school games
