Both the words used for this date have a deep connection with life. The meaning of the word Rangbhari Ekadashi is ‘to fill with colours’. Its implication is that life should be filled with colors of joy, enthusiasm and excitement.

An opportunity to fill the five senses with the colors of positivity

Just as wonderful views are seen in gardens or in the sky due to the rays of the morning and evening sun, in the same way, if life is filled with the inner colors of harmony, love, compassion, kindness and positivity, then life will be filled with colors of happiness. Because the color of negativity leads life towards degradation. This festival five days ago indicates the step towards filling the five senses of man with positive colors. Life can be happy only when the color of vision, hearing, breathing, taste and touch are favorable. Similarly, when the five great elements – ‘Kshiti, Jal, Pavak, Gagan and Samir’ also remain in favorable condition, then only the body and mind remain healthy.

This worship is a message to make these five senses of man positive, because if the five senses remain like the five Pandavas, then Shri Krishna in the form of wisdom will automatically appear in the mind, whereas in the opposite situation, the mind will become blind like Dhritarashtra and there will be confusion and fear. And many feelings of selfishness will start spreading. Then there is bound to be a war and in this war it is certain that the Dhritarashtra family will also come to an end.

In Sanatan culture, mother and birthplace are given a better place than heaven.

Another name of Rangbhari Ekadashi is called Amalaki Ekadashi by Maharshi. Amalaki is called Dhatri fruit. Dhatri has been said to mean ‘mother’. In Sanatan culture, the status of mother has been kept even higher than that of God. In the verse ‘Janani Janmabhoomisch Swargadapi Gariyasi’, the mother who gives birth and the birthplace have been said to be better than heaven. The birthplace should also be considered as the conscience, because whatever work a person does in life, its first emotion takes birth in the mind only.
