Rauf and Naseem doubtful to play in remaining matches of Asia Cup, Dahani and Zaman included in Pakistan team – Dainik Savera Times

Colombo: It is doubtful whether Pakistan’s fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah will play in the remaining matches of the Asia Cup One Day International competition. Both these players were injured during the Super Four match against India. The Pakistani team management said that Shahnawaz Dahani and Zaman Khan have been included in the team as backup to Rauf and Naseem as a precautionary measure.

The statement of Pakistan team said, “Pakistan has included Shahnawaz Dahani and Zaman Khan in the team as backup. This decision was taken due to injuries to Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah in the match against India. The team management said, “This is as a precaution keeping in mind the fitness of the players before the ODI World Cup starting next month.” but, has been done.”

Rauf had bowled five overs on Sunday but when the game started on the reserve day on Monday, he did not take the field. He did not even come to bat later. Naseem completed his quota of 10 overs but he left the field during the 49th over of the Indian innings. His hand was injured and he also did not come out to bat. Pakistan’s innings ended at 128 runs for eight wickets and thus India won by a record 228 runs. Pakistan has to play its next match against Sri Lanka on Thursday and if it qualifies then the final will be played on Sunday.
