RCB should solve middle order knots: Irfan

Lucknow (Uttam Hindu News): Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan believes that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are dependent on their top three batsmen in Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell and need someone in the middle order to win them in difficult situations. The batsman has to come forward.
Irfan said on Star Sports Cricket Live, “RCB will have to see who can rescue their team in a difficult situation if KGF (Kohli, Glenn, Faf) does not perform well. This work will have to be done by either Dinesh Karthik or Mahipal Lomror.
For RCB, apart from Kohli, no other Indian batsman has shown any power with the bat this season, which is a matter of concern. RCB had to face defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground in the last match for the same reason. Earlier, this team was also in a strong position against Chennai Super Kings chasing 227 runs but RCB’s innings collapsed as soon as the wickets of Maxwell and du Plessis fell.
Irfan said, “RCB’s middle order looks very weak. Karthik has not proved even once in the last eight matches that the team can rely on him while chasing big scores or targets. RCB management will have to address this flaw in their batting.
