Bangalore:The disappointing performance of Delhi Capitals continues in IPL 2023 (IPL 2023). David Warner’s team has lost in the 5th consecutive match in the league. Virat Kohli’s (50 runs) third half-century of the tournament saw RCB inching towards a big score while Glenn Maxwell also contributed with 24 runs in a 14-ball knock studded with three towering sixes. But Delhi Capitals’ spin trio Kuldeep (4-1-23-2), Akshar Patel (3-0-25-1) and Lalit Yadav (4-0-29-1) kept RCB’s run rate in the middle overs. Tighten the reins Mitchell Marsh (2/18 in 2 overs), who joined the team after his marriage, also contributed significantly by scalping the wickets of RCB skipper Faf Duplesey and Mahipal Lomror.

RCB looked to be moving towards a big score after scoring 89 runs for one wicket after 10 overs. But then RCB’s team came on the backfoot and Kuldeep took the wickets of Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik in consecutive balls, which made the team’s score 132 runs for six wickets. Earlier, Akshar Patel finished the innings of Harshal Patel, due to which the Delhi Capitals team took a hat-trick of wickets in the 15th over.

Delhi batsmen did not survive

The start of Delhi Capitals was very bad. Opener Prithvi Shaw was run out in the very first over. Mitchell Marsh returned to the pavilion in the second and Yash Dhull in the third over. David Warner played some good shots. But Vijayakumar got him out in the last over of the powerplay.
