New Delhi . Former Indian batsman Robin Uthappa believes Sanju Samson is not able to perform at his best due to lack of clarity up the batting order.
Sanju Samson is often used as an option in India’s T20 batting order, or rather he does not have a fixed batting order.
Frequent shuffling of the batting order means Samson is failing to find his rhythm.
The right-handed batsman has enjoyed tremendous success as a top-order batsman for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, but has so far scored only 12 and 7 in the two T20Is in the West Indies, batting at No.6 and No.5.
Uthappa said, “There is a lack of clarity as far as Sanju Samson is concerned. I want to be very clear with him because unfortunately the last time he was selected for the Indian team, he got injured and missed a few games. Then he had to go back to NCA.
“Now that he is back in the team, he is getting a chance to bat at a position that is new to him. In such a situation, it has to be seen how they perform. I think it’s unfair to him and to everyone.” (IANS)
