Rohit Sharma becomes the sixth Indian to score 10 thousand runs in ODI, joins the club of Sachin-Virat

Colombo (Uttam Hindu News): Indian captain Rohit Sharma has registered another historical record in his name. He has become the second fastest and sixth Indian in the world to score 10,000 ODI runs in international cricket.
In the Super-4 match of Asia Cup, India won the toss and decided to bat first against Sri Lanka. As soon as Rohit Sharma completed 22 runs against Sri Lanka, he became the 15th batsman to score 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. He is also the third Indian opening batsman to reach this milestone after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
This is a historic achievement as India are eyeing the top spot in the Super 4 standings after their impressive win against Pakistan. Sharma is playing his 50th ODI against Sri Lanka. Making his ODI debut against Ireland in 2007, Rohit has 30 centuries, 50 half-centuries and 2 double centuries in his name.
