Rohit Sharma told the condition of the team during the press conference, know why only 13 players are playing

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma said on Tuesday that he has only 13 players to select for the final ODI match against Australia in Rajkot. The team was hit by the viral disease due to which some players were unavailable for selection, while fast bowlers Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Shami as well as all-rounder Hardik Pandya opted to return home. Keeping the World Cup in mind, Shubman Gill has been rested, while on the other hand, Axar Patel is recovering at the NCA from the left quadricep injury which he suffered during the Asia Cup. However, there is not much tension among the team management because the team has already won the three-match series against Australia. In such a situation, the team management would like all the players to be fully prepared for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 and achieve match fitness on time.
Captain Rohit Sharma said this during the pre-match press meet
“We have a lot of players who are ill and unavailable. Many players also have personal problems due to which they have gone home. At present we have 13 players. Shubman Gill has been rested, Shami, Hardik and Shardul have all gone home and it is obvious that it is not possible for Akshar, who is recovering from injury, to be available for this game.
‘A lot of uncertainty in the team’
Captain Rohit Sharma further said, “The team has been hit by the viral disease, hence, there is a lot of uncertainty in the team at the moment which we cannot help. Looking at the next few weeks, it is very important for us to take care of the players and their health. It is important. So, it is good for them to stay at home at this time so that everyone remains fresh during the World Cup and hopefully they can come back fresh.”
