Royal Challengers Bangalore beat UP Warriors by 23 runs in Women’s Premier League – Dainik Savera Times

Bengaluru: Thanks to Smriti Mandhana’s explosive 80 runs and Ellyse Perry’s 58 runs half-century and subsequent excellent bowling performance, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated UP Warriors by 23 runs in the 11th match of the Women’s Premier League on Monday while chasing 1,199 runs. Uttar Pradesh Warriors started well and added 47 runs for the first wicket.

Kiran Navgire was out after scoring 18 runs as the first wicket. Captain Alyssa Healy played an inning of 55 runs in 38 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. He was dismissed by Molineau. Chamari Atapattu was out after scoring eight runs, Grace Harris was out after scoring five runs, Shweta Sehrawat was out after scoring one run, Deepti Sharma was out after scoring 33 runs, Poonam Khemnar was out after scoring 31 runs and Sophie Eccleston was out after scoring four runs. Anjali Sarwani remained unbeaten on three runs.

The entire team of UP Warrior could score only 175 runs for eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 23 runs. Sophie Devine, Sophie Molineau, Georgia Wareham and Sobhana Asha took two wickets each for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Earlier, with the help of Smriti Mandhana’s 80 runs and Ellyse Perry’s 58 runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore gave the target of 199 runs to UP Warriors to win.

Today at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, UP Warriors won the toss and decided to bowl first. Coming into bat, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s opening pair of S Meghna and Smriti Mandhana made a good start and added 51 runs for the first wicket. In the sixth over, Anjali Sarwani gave the first blow to Royal Challengers Bangalore by getting Meghna caught out by Atapattu for 28 runs.

Mandhana played an inning of 80 runs in 50 balls with the help of 10 fours and three sixes. She was caught out by Deepti at the hands of Khemnar. Ellyse Perry scored 58 runs in 37 balls. Richa Ghosh scored 21 unbeaten runs and Sophie Devine scored 2 unbeaten runs. Royal Challengers scored 198 runs for three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Anjali Sarwani, Sophie Eccleston and Deepti Sharma got one wicket each for UP Warriors.
