Runs are few but anything is possible in cricket: Umesh

Indore (Best Hindu News): Australia may need just 76 runs to win the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav believes anything can happen on the Holkar Stadium pitch.
Umesh told reporters after the end of the second day’s play on Thursday, “Anything can happen in cricket. We will try our best. The bowling must have been tight. It is not an easy pitch, be it our batsmen or theirs. It is not easy to play ahead. The ball is staying low at times too, so you can’t think of playing forward. Runs may be short but we will bowl tight and take the match as far as possible.
Significantly, thanks to the deadly bowling of Nathan Lyon (50/8), Australia all out India for 163 runs in the second innings. Australia had made an 88-run lead in the first innings, so they would need only 76 runs to register their first win in this series. Earlier, however, Umesh took three wickets to bundle out Australia for 197 in the first innings.
On bowling on a spinner-friendly pitch, Umesh said, “On this surface, my plan was to bowl straight and go for one or two wickets. As a fast bowler, I have to bowl in the right areas. I have played most of my cricket in India. My mindset is always to take wickets.
