SA T20 gave new life to South African cricket: Graeme Smith

New Delhi. After an impressive inaugural season, the South African T20 League (SA20) is gearing up for its second season, starting on January 10, 2024.

The SA T20 League, which was launched in 2023, has already made a significant impact on the South African cricket landscape.

The inaugural edition of the league in 2023 was a resounding success, with cricket fans treated to over 33 matches in 32 days. The league included some of the biggest names in cricket. In which Faf du Plessis, Joffra Archer, Jos Buttler, Rashid Khan and many other big names are present.

Graeme Smith, League Commissioner SA20 and former South Africa captain, expressed his excitement, “Our first season exceeded all expectations, showcasing a fantastic mix of young local talent and global cricket stars. The tournament will be held across six major venues in South Africa, enhancing the fan experience. Season 2 in particular boasts an increased prize fund of R50 million, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
