Boxer Sweety Bura of 80 kg category is a resident of Hisar, Haryana. Being a small farmer, the economic condition of father Mahendra Singh was weak. Despite opposition from the village and relatives, the father supported the daughter. The villagers used to taunt the father as well, but he did not care and sent the daughter to Hisar for boxing practice. Hard work paid off soon. In 2009, the daughter made her father proud by winning the gold medal at the state level within 3 months.

Sweety’s husband Deepak Hooda is a player of the Indian Kabaddi team. He is a big name in Pro Kabaddi League. He never stopped Sweety from training. Both were married only last year. Sweety started training only after 10 days of marriage.
