Jamshedpur: The date of Sendra was finalized in the meeting of Dalma Buru Sendra Committee on Friday at Gadda in Parsudih area of ​​East Singhbhum. Along with this, the first invitation letter was also handed over. Dalma Raja Rakesh Hembram presided over the meeting. In the presence of Pargana Baba, Majhi Baba, Manki Baba, Munda Baba and Disua Sendra Veeron, Rakesh Hembram called for celebrating Disua Dalma Sendra festival on 20th May. He handed over the first Kita Gira Sakam i.e. Sendra invitation letter to Jugsalai Torof Pargana Dashmat Hansda. He was also requested to bring the warriors of his army along with his force on the said date. In the meeting, Jugsalai Taerof Pargana Dashmat Hansda, Majhi Baba Durgacharan Murmu of Talsa village, Demka Soy, Roshan Purti, Moso Soy, Chandu Purti, Suklal Samad, Sukra Barjo, Shankar Gagrai, Sanju Hembram, Chhote Sardar, Lakhan Samad, Jena Jamuda, Raju Samant, Dhano Mardi, Krishna Devgam etc. were present.

Village and forest deities were invoked
Before distributing ‘Gira Sakam’, a traditional invitation made of palm leaves, to the Sendra warriors, Rakesh Hembram invoked the village and forest deities in the courtyard of his ancestral home in Gadda. Informed them about the date of Sendra and sought their consent.

38 knots tied in palm leaves, will be untied one by one from today
After invoking the Gods and Goddesses, a knot of 38 leaves was tied in a date palm branch. Which will be opened one bale every day from Saturday. Sendra festival will be celebrated on the day the last knot is opened. Tribal society has been celebrating Sendra festival since ancient times. They have been communicating with each other through ‘Gira Sakam’ made of date palm leaves. Only after seeing Gira Sakam, Disua Sendra Veer would understand when Sendra would happen.
