Shah Khawar takes over as PCB Chairman

Lahore. Supreme Court of Pakistan lawyer Shah Khawar has taken over as the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Khawar is also the election commissioner of PCB. He has reportedly taken over the post in an interim capacity following the exit of Zaka Ashraf last week.
In a PCB statement, Khawar said, “I would like to thank PCB Patron Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar for reposing his confidence in me. My primary responsibility will be to conduct the election of the PCB Chairman in a free and transparent manner as soon as possible. “
The PCB said that in accordance with the January 23 notification of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) and on the basis of Article 7(2) of the PCB Constitution, the Election Commissioner has been given the reins of the PCB Chairman.
Khawar is the fifth person to hold the post of PCB chairman in the last 14 months. Earlier, Rameez Raja, Najam Sethi, Ahmed Shehzad, Farooq Rana and Ashraf were on this post.
Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan, who is also the PCB Patron. With the appointment of Anwarul Haq Kakar, Khawar’s first role will be to conduct the elections which will also determine the next elected PCB chairman.
