Colombo (Uttam Hindu News): Shardul Thakur got a chance to bowl 10 overs in the Super Four match of Asia Cup against Bangladesh. He bowled explosively with impressive figures of 3-65, which also included the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan.
In ODIs this year, Shardul has taken 19 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 5.92.
Shardul said after Bangladesh’s innings, “I am very happy with taking three wickets in this match. My performance against Pakistan was not good and I was ill throughout the match, but today I feel good after bowling 10 overs.”
Bangladesh has set a target of 266 runs for India. At the same time, Shardul feels that if Team India had not dropped catches or there were not many misfields, Bangladesh’s score would have been less.
He further said, “I think the pitch was slow and they did a good job of scoring 265 runs. There was a slight mistake on our part. We could have restricted them to 220 or 230.”
Shardul said on the team’s batting, “If we get a good opening partnership, I think we will chase this target comfortably.”
