Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup: Imanjot Singh is the biggest find with the best bowler, Sanveer Singh and Naman Dhir also impressed Mohali News

Mohali. The ongoing 18-day Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup, organized by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) at the IS Bindra Stadium, turned out to be the most exciting of the domestic leagues. In which the cricketers of the state proved themselves making full use of the platform. Everyone saw his talent live on TV and fans also came to cheer him.
The final between Agri Kings Knights and BLV Blasters played under floodlights in Mohali witnessed over 10,000 fans cheering the teams from the stands. BLV Blasters defeated Agri Kings Knights by 7 wickets to win the championship trophy and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.
Punjab cricketers Gurkeerat Singh Mann (Trident Stallions), Sanveer Singh (JK Super Strikers), Mandeep Singh (Royals Phantoms), Siddharth Kaul (Hampton Falcons), Baltej Singh (Agri Kings Knights) and Mayank Markandey (BLV Blasters) won the respective six led the teams.
PCA’s first T20 Cup Sher-e-Punjab started on 13 July and continued till 30 July. Sanveer Singh of JK Super Strikers (502 runs in 11 matches and 15 wickets, 24 sixes) was the best in 33 matches of the tournament. He was voted Best Batsman and Man of the Series. He has played 19 first-class matches for Punjab and is also a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the IPL.
BLV Blasters batsman Naman Dhir (466 runs in 12 matches including maximum 30 sixes) performed brilliantly. Patiala’s 18-year-old left-arm spinner Imanjot Chahal top-scored for JK Super Strikers with 21 wickets in 11 matches and was adjudged the best bowler. He was followed by BLV Blasters’ left-arm spinner Pratisat Dutta, who took 14 wickets in 11 matches.
All matches were telecast live nationally on Star Sports First and also streamed online on Fancode. The winning team received Rs 25 lakh while the runner-up team was given Rs 15 lakh.
The tournament saw a high-voltage semi-final which went till the very last ball. Batting first in the final, Agri Kings Knights managed to score 150/9 in allotted 20 overs. In reply, BLV Blasters achieved the target in 17.5 overs with seven wickets in hand.

It was inspiring to see Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other states doing T20 cricket. We got full support and encouragement from BCCI Secretary Jai Shah to do PCA’s T20 Cup. Our key advisor and former India spinner Harbhajan Singh also showed great interest in this initiative. We saw some of the best brands of cricket in the tournament. We can see some youngsters emerging and showing their potential. This will help our selectors a lot in selecting the teams for the upcoming domestic season.
