Shiva Thapa will lead the Indian team in IBA World Boxing Championships, 13 member team announced

IBA World Boxing Championships: Boxers who have won medals in the Asian Championship 6 times Shiva Thapa He will lead the Indian contingent in the upcoming Men’s World Boxing Championships to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from April 30 to May 14. The Boxing Federation of India has announced the names of total 13 boxers for this tournament. Shiva, who won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships in Doha, would like to add another medal to his name. He will represent the country in the 63.5 kg weight category.
Deepak will present challenge in 51 kg flyweight weight category
Silver medalist at the 2019 Asian Championships and one of the most improved boxers in recent times, Deepak Bhoria will contest in the 51kg flyweight category. Deepak made headlines on the global stage in 2021 by defeating 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist and 2019 World Championships Shakhobidin Zoirov of Uzbekistan in the Strandja Memorial tournament. Boxing Federation of India (BFI) President Ajay Singh said in a release that the men’s team is working very hard and I wish them all the best. I am sure that everyone will make the country proud.
The Indian team will leave for Tashkent on April 17 and will participate in training camps in several countries before the World Championship. The gold medalist will get $200,000, the silver medalist $100,000 and both the bronze medalists $50,000.
