During the ongoing Legends League cricket in Doha, Qatar, Pakistan’s veteran fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has created a stir with his statement. After the match between Asia Lions and India Maharaja, Akhtar said that he loves India and that is why he used to visit India a lot. He has even got his Aadhaar card made.

Speaking to ANI, Akhtar said, “I love Hindustan, I have a lot of friends there. I keep coming to India a lot, even my Aadhaar card was made.

The fast bowler has praised India, he often speaks well of India and the Indian cricket team on his YouTube channel. However, he often gets trolled by his own countrymen for his act. Many times people have also said that he does not want the YouTube viewership from India to decrease so he does this publicity stunt.

Shoaib is currently playing Legends League cricket in Doha. The 47-year-old plays for the Asia Lions in the tournament. He was last seen playing a match on 14 March where the star bowler bowled just one over in which he conceded 12 runs. After the match, he made such a statement which created panic on social media.

In the match, India Maharajas defeated Asia Lions by 10 wickets. Batting first, Misbah & Co scored 157 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Upul Tharanga top-scored for them with 69 off 48 balls. Suresh Raina took two wickets in the match. Indian Maharajas chased down the target in just 12.3 overs without losing any wicket. Wicket-keeper batsman Robin Uthappa scored 88 runs in 39 balls and captain Gautam Gambhir scored 61 0ff 36 runs to give victory to the Indian Maharajas.

Akhtar recently praised Indian run machine, Virat Kohli for scoring a century after more than three years against Australia in the fourth Test in Ahmedabad. He also said, “I am not surprised by his (Kohli) comeback as he is a remarkable player.”
