In fact, Shoaib said in his interview that Indian money runs the house of Pakistani cricketers. This is a big statement by Shoaib Akhtar. His statement may make the officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board feel chilly.
Shoaib said about BCCI?
Shoaib Akhtar in his interview talked about many issues related to India-Pakistan cricket. During the same conversation, Shoaib Akhtar admitted that after the income earned by the ICC through the Indian Cricket Board, the Pakistan Cricket Board also gets that money under revenue sharing. Due to this money received from ICC, PCB is able to pay match fees to its domestic cricketers.
Shoaib Akhtar has also admitted that at present BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world and it is the biggest contributor to ICC’s revenue. Not only Pakistan, many other cricket boards are getting help only because of India.
Shoaib also talked about the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in India this year. Shoaib believes that, ‘The ODI World Cup to be held in India this year will be very exciting. The future of the 50 over format is looking bleak to me now. That’s why I want India to make a lot of money from this World Cup. Many people will not say this but I say without hesitation that Pakistan also gets a part of the revenue that goes to ICC from India. With this money, our domestic cricketers get match fees and run their house.
India will be under pressure in the World Cup
Regarding Team India in the World Cup 2023, Shoaib Akhtar said, ‘Indian team will play at their home ground in the tournament, due to which there will be extra pressure on them being the home team. This is not a one-time thing, it has happened many times.
Shoaib also said important things related to the media regarding the India-Pakistan match. He said, “The Indian team loses to Pakistan not because they lack good players, but because the media gets too much. Take the last Asia Cup, there was a lot of pressure on Team India. The entire stadium was painted blue. Because of this there was no pressure on Pakistan. The result was that the players of Team India could not handle the pressure and they scattered.
