We have to play smart hockey and focus on our actual strategy and responsibilities. We have to stick to our core structure and take full advantage of the opportunities.
He said, “The stadium will be packed for this match. The stadium was almost full even in the match played on Sunday which is a good sign for Indian hockey. Harmanpreet is happy that the team has found a way to convert penalty corners and score field goals but the defense Needs more strength especially the team will have to avoid giving away penalty corners at crucial moments. He said, “We are scoring goals from the ground and penalty corners and also controlling the ball for a sufficient amount of time, but we still need to work on our defense and we will not have to give away penalty corners easily. We have to control the ball better inside the circle.
As far as converting penalty corners is concerned, India won four penalty corners against South Korea, out of which they converted two. On the lack of consistency in converting penalty corners, Harmanpreet said that the defense of the opposing teams is strong which is good for the game. He said, “It is happening not only with us but with every team. The main reason for this is that their defense has become better. If you look at our line of defence, Amit Rohidas and Jarmanpreet Singh are playing very well. Same with opposing teams which is good for the game.
