In this IPL season, Gill scored 890 runs in 17 matches. He batted brilliantly at an impressive average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80, but missed 900 runs by 20 runs. Had he scored this run, he would have been only the second batsman after Virat Kohli to do so in an IPL season. However, he is now second only to Virat Kohli (973 runs for RCB in 2016) in scoring the most runs in a season.
In this list, Jos Buttler comes at number three, David Warner at number four and Kane Williamson at number 5. Gill has definitely missed out on registering his name in Virat Kohli’s list, but the Orange Cap will now remain in his name, it is sure.
