Cape Town. South African captain Dean Elgar’s decision to bat first after winning the toss in the second Test proved wrong. Indian bowlers all out South Africa for just 55 runs before lunch on the first day on Wednesday, in which Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj took the maximum of 6 wickets while bowling lethally.
The Indian cricket team had to face a crushing defeat in the first test match played in Centurion. After trailing 1-0 in the series, India was eyeing a comeback in the second Test, which the Indian team has achieved to a great extent.
In the first innings of the second test, South Africa was all out for 55 runs. This is also the smallest score of the South African team against India. South Africa could bat only 23.2 overs at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town. Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj from India took 6 wickets for 15 runs in nine overs.
The African batsmen looked completely helpless in front of Siraj’s havoc-wreaking ball. African captain Dean Elgar, who played a brilliant century in the first Test, also could not last long in front of Siraj and was bowled after scoring only 4 runs.
South Africa’s Kyle Warren scored 15 and David Bedingham scored 12 runs. The remaining batsmen could not even cross the score of 6 runs. Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar from India got 2-2 wickets.
