Speeding pickup van crushes 5 people in Deoghar

Deoghar: On Wednesday morning, a pickup van hit five people walking on foot near Ghatghar on Deoghar-Sarwan main road under Kunda police station area of Deoghar district. One died in this incident. While the remaining four people were seriously injured. With the help of local people, the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment, where the on-duty doctor declared one dead.
Everyone was strolling after offering morning namaz
The name of the deceased is Tafjul Ansari (22 years). He was a resident of Khagra village of Kunda police station area. Among the injured are Mehboob Ansari, Tanveer Hussain, Riyaz Ansari and Firaq Ansari. All are residents of Khagra village. After first aid, two of these people were referred to a higher center for better treatment in view of their serious condition. Regarding the incident, injured Riyaz Ansari said that everyone was walking on the roadside after offering morning namaz at around 6 o’clock. At the same time, the driver of a goods pickup van coming at a high speed ran away, pushing everyone from behind.

Police started investigating
In this incident, Tafjul died on the spot. Here, as soon as information about the incident was received, Kunda police station in-charge Prashant Kumar, ASI Chunu Mandal and other officials reached the spot along with the soldiers and started investigating the matter.
