Indore : Miffed with the broadcasters for touting his century against New Zealand as his first after three years, India captain Rohit Sharma said he played very few ODIs in the last three years due to various reasons. Rohit scored his 30th ODI century in the third ODI against New Zealand.
Since then the broadcasters have been continuously showing that this is his first century since January 2020. The figures may be correct but Rohit says that it is not giving the right picture. He said, “Even though this is the first century in three years, I have played only 12 ODIs during this period. You must know what is happening. I know it was shown during broadcast but sometimes that thing should also be taken care of. The broadcaster should also show the right content. Asked if it is the return of the ‘Hitman’, he said, ”As I said there were no matches in 2020. Everyone was locked in homes due to Corona. We didn’t play ODIs and I was also injured. All those things should be kept in mind.
He said, “We were playing T20 cricket last year and there is no better batsman than Suryakumar Yadav at the moment. He has scored two hundreds and I don’t think anyone else has done that. He told how Shardul Thakur, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli planned to get New Zealand captain Tom Latham out in the match. He said, “In this format you have to use your skills and Shardul has that.
