Sports infrastructure facilities of UP will get flight from GIS

Lucknow | Sports in Uttar Pradesh will get a big boost from the Global Investors Summit. A special session will be held on February 12. The Sports Department is also ready to make every possible contribution to make Uttar Pradesh prosperous, establish new dimensions and make UP a one trillion economy through the Global Investors Summit (GIS). For this, a special session will be organized on February 12 in the summit focused on the topic ‘Sports sector in Uttar Pradesh and its role in one trillion’. This session will run from 11:45 am to 13:30 pm at Bhardwaj Hangar-3.
It is noteworthy that in recent years, the performance of Indian players at the international level has been excellent. UP players have also shown their talent at the national level. After the global pandemic Corona, people have become very aware about fitness.
Due to increasing awareness, the demand for sports and fitness related products has increased. Meerut in Uttar Pradesh is known for such products not only in the country but also in the world.
As an industry, there is immense scope for expansion of this sector. According to an estimate, the business of sports and fitness industry will reach from $ 27 billion to $ 100 billion in the next five years.
Uttar Pradesh is continuously becoming the center of sports. Uttar Pradesh is also set to host two major sports events this year – Khelo India University Games 2023 and Moto GP. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already announced that the state has adopted wrestling and badminton.
In the sports session to be held in GIS, respected personalities from the sports world will discuss various opportunities of sports in Uttar Pradesh. The session will result in fruitful dialogue between all the stakeholders in the sports sector. The session will brief the department in detail about its policy and attractive options for investment or engagement with investors and industry. Additional Chief Secretary (Sports) Navneet Sehgal said that Uttar Pradesh has produced champions like Major Dhyanchand (Hockey), Jagbir Singh (Hockey), Gaus Mohammad (Tennis) and Annu Raj Singh. The pride of cricket Suresh Raina and Praveen Kumar etc. are also from here. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has been proactive in promoting and implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Khelo India initiative for athletes, as well as developing its own sports development strategies. It is our intention that Uttar Pradesh should become a leader in the country in the sports industry like other fields. Due to the existing ecosystem, GIS will be helpful in this.
