face. Former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth has taken a dig at Gautam Gambhir following the altercation that broke out during the Legends League Cricket 2023 Eliminator at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium on Wednesday.

After India Capitals won by 12 runs, Sreesanth slammed Gambhir for unnecessarily provoking him. Sreesanth attacked his colleagues for not showing any respect and expressed how hurt he was by Gambhir’s comments.

Sreesanth said after the match, “I just wanted to clarify something on what happened with Mr. Fighter, who always fights with all his colleagues without any reason. He doesn’t even respect his senior players, Which includes Veeru Bhai and many others. Exactly the same thing happened here too. He kept on talking to me without any reason, which is very wrong and something that Mr. Gautam Gambhir should not have said.”

“So, I just want to tell you all that there is no fault of mine. Sooner or later you will find out what Gauti has done. The words he used and the things he said live on the cricket field, are not acceptable.”

However, on Thursday morning, Sreesanth went live on social media platform Instagram and accused Gambhir of using the ‘F’ word. The Kerala fast bowler also said that Gambhir had called him a ‘fixer’, referring to the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal.

Sreesanth said, “I didn’t use a single bad word. I kept saying ‘What are you saying? What are you saying?’ Forgive my language but he said ‘fuck you fixer’. This is the language he used on live TV. When the umpires tried to control him, he used the same language.”

In the match, India Capitals decided to bat first against Gujarat Giants, after which Gambhir and Sreesanth had a heated argument during Gambhir’s batting.

On Thursday morning, Gambhir posted a note on social media, perhaps downplaying the issue raised by Sreesanth.

Gambhir also said on social media platform X, “Smile when the world is in full focus.”
