Kolkata: Rajasthan Royals’ Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored the fastest half-century in Indian Premier League (IPL) history against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), said that focus and confidence is helping him in improving his performance. The 21-year-old Mumbai player brought up his half-century in just 13 balls against KKR on Thursday. Thanks to the stormy innings of opener Yashasvi’s unbeaten 98 runs, Rajasthan defeated KKR by nine wickets in a one-sided match.
Yashasvi said after the match that ‘undoubtedly it was my memorable innings which you will never want to forget’. When I was batting, I felt that everything is going well and I should continue my innings like this. Sanju (Sanju Samson) brother was encouraging me. Yashasvi said that ‘I always try to learn new things to improve my batting and try to be calm and focused. I am fortunate that in IPL, I am getting a chance to see and know the great players like Dhoni bhai, Rahul bhai and Virat bhai from close quarters. They encourage me and I get an opportunity to learn something new from them. ,
