New Delhi | Stolen bats, pads, gloves and other items belonging to Delhi Capitals players have been recovered. These things were stolen a few days back while traveling from Bengaluru to Delhi. Delhi captain David Warner confirmed this on Friday.
Although not all the goods have been recovered, but getting this much is also welcome and it is a big relief for the players of Delhi.
Sharing the story on Instagram, Warner showed off the recovered items and wrote, “They have caught the culprits but some items are still missing.”
Ahead of Delhi’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders, it was reported that Capitals players’ bats and other belongings worth lakhs of rupees had been stolen from their kit bags while travelling.
After returning to the capital after playing a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi players found that 16 bats, pads, shoes, thigh pads and gloves were stolen from the players’ kit bags during their journey from Bengaluru to Delhi.
The players came to know about the incident when they received their kit bags after returning from the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He informed the franchise officials about the incident who immediately lodged an official complaint.
The stolen bats are believed to belong to captain David Warner, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, wicket-keeper batsman Phil Salt and Yash Dhull.
This was the first such case in IPL history.
