Student volunteers do a great job at the Men’s Hockey World Cup

Bhubaneswar | The FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup nears its end with the final to be played on 29 January. As the teams gear up for the top prize, a dedicated group of individuals, besides officials from Hockey India and Odisha government, are working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that the marquee event is a grand success.
These persons are volunteers from Government University of Physical Education, Bhubaneshwar and Sambalpur, who have got the opportunity to work for such a big event.
Volunteers have been an integral part of the organizing team, giving their time and support to ensure that the tournament is a success.
From setting up the venues to helping with logistics, hospitality, stand management etc, the volunteers are working tirelessly to ensure that everything is in place.
Rajendra Prasad Pani, Under Secretary in the Department of Sports, who oversees volunteer management for Hockey India, said, “We had to ensure that the volunteers were ready for the big event. Their orientation was completed by 2022. It is a challenging task, but they have really done a great job in it.
