Subroto Cup Football: Gumla won the title in all three categories, Simdega and Ranchi teams became runners-up

Sports Correspondent, Ranchi: Gumla won the titles of all the three categories of the divisional level 62nd Subroto Mukherjee Football Competition organized under the aegis of School Education Literacy Department. St. Ignatius High School Gumla beat Bethany Convent Malmandro Ranchi by 11-10 in the tiebreaker in the final of Boys Under-14 category played at Birsa Munda Football Stadium. In Girls Under-17 final, Sant Piyush High School, Rampur, Gumla won the title by defeating Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Tanger, Simdega by 1-0. On the other hand, in the under-17 boys category, St. Ignatius High School, Gumla registered a 1-0 win over Ramesh Singh Munda High School, Bundu, Ranchi.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony, Dhirsen A. Soreng (State Program Officer, Jhashipp) awarded the winning and runner-up teams. Assistant Program Officer Vinay Bandhu Kachhap, Anand Kumar (Accounts Officer), Jayant Kumar (Assistant Engineer) distributed certificates and medals to the players.
The winning teams will participate in the state level competition
All the three winning teams will now represent South Chotanagpur in the state level 62nd Pre-Subroto Mukherjee Football Competition 2023-24 to be held at Khelgaon, Hotwar from 7th to 9th August.
Dr Ram Dayal Munda Challenge Football from 23rd August
Ranchi. Under the joint aegis of Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Sports Center and Rumbul, the ninth Padma Shri Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Challenge Football Competition will start from August 23 at Ranchi College Ground (Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Football Stadium). The final of the competition will be played on 30 August. 16 teams are participating in the competition. The winning team will be given Rs 2 lakh and a trophy, while the runner-up will be given Rs 1 lakh and a trophy. The entry fee is Rs 20,001 and the last date for entry is August 10.
