Summons issued from CJM court against former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, ED has filed complaint

Ranchi: CJM court dismisses former CM on complaint filed in case of disregard of summons Hemant Soren Summons were issued against him on Monday and he was asked to present his side. Recently, the CJM court had taken cognizance of the complaint of ED (Enforcement Directorate). Now Hemant Soren will be prosecuted in this case. Cognizance has been taken in the CJM court under section 174 of the IPC. The ED had issued 10 summons to him for questioning in the money laundering case related to the land scam, but only twice the ED team could go to the CM residence and interrogate him. At present Hemant Soren is in judicial custody in Hotwar Jail of Ranchi.
ED had issued summons to Hemant Soren 10 times
After hearing both the parties in the case of disregard of summons, the court had reserved its decision. During the hearing, the court was told by the ED that former CM Hemant Soren was summoned 10 times in the case related to land buying and selling. Out of these, Hemant Soren was present only on two summons, whereas Hemant Soren’s non-appearance on the remaining eight summons is disregard of the summons.
ED team has interrogated Hemant Soren twice on summons
It is noteworthy that on the eighth summons of ED on January 20 and on the tenth summons on January 31, ED had interrogated Hemant Soren at the CM residence. ED had also told the court that a complaint was filed in the Delhi CJM court when Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was not present even after the summons.
