Kolkata | Former India cricketer Parthiv Patel was impressed with the bowling of 19-year-old spinner Suyash Sharma, who produced a stellar performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore on his IPL debut at the Eden Gardens. Kolkata won this match from Bangalore by 81 runs.
KKR scored 204 runs while playing first. RCB started well but as soon as Kolkata used their spinners to attack, the Bengaluru innings got a break. The spin trio of Sunil Narine, Varun Chakraborty and Suyash Sharma bundled out Bengaluru for 123, taking a total of nine wickets.
Suyash made his debut and played a key role in the victory by taking three wickets.
GeoCinema’s IPL expert Parthiv Patel said, “He impressed with his bowling. We have seen him bowling in the under-25s for Delhi. He is a different kind of leg-spinner. Virat Kohli and Faf Duplesey started well but both were bowled in successive overs. Kohli was bowled by Sunil Narine and Faf by Varun Chakraborty.
