In the other semi-final, world No. 9 Maria Sakkari displayed her resilience and determination to defeat No. 3 seed Coco Gauff in a tight three-set match 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-2. Secured his place in the final for the second time in his career.
Sakari leads 3-2 in the head-to-head encounter, but has won his last three matches in straight sets. It is the first time Sakkari has won five in a row since winning her first WTA 1000 title in Guadalajara last time out.
