T20 Team India: Ravi Shastri claims T20 captaincy due to Rohit Sharma

Hardik Pandya’s words will be given a lot of importance while selecting fresh Damachya players. Due to this, former head coach Ravi Shastri has claimed that the captain of Gujarat Titans will be given permanent leadership of Team India for the world tournament.

Captain of Test and ODI association Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli are still active in the plans of T20 (T20 Team India) association. But he has also disclosed that the process of phasing out senior players has started after Australia’s exit from last year’s T20 World Cup.

Shastri said while giving an interview to the sports website, ‘I feel that by keeping big competitions in front of the eyes, the selectors give opportunities to new players. Yanda’s talented young batsmen have been underrated in the IPL. That’s why Team India is not completely new, but there will be many new faces in it, no doubt. Team India’s T20 team under the leadership of Hardik Pandya has done a great job. He has the potential to be a workaholic captain in either format if there is no fitness issue. With a fresh team like in 2007, we will definitely be able to win the World Cup title,’ he expressed confidence.

Since 2011, the Indian team has been unsuccessful in the world cup competition. The first T20 World Cup to be held in mid-2007 would have created history. In that year’s competition, many young faces of Team India shone and MS Dhoni’s youth team did wonders. At that time senior players like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid would have been dropped from T20 format.

After the debacle in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals, the Indian Cricket Association’s management process is starting once again like the 2007 stage. In that view, steps have already been taken. Senior players like Virat, Rohit, Bhuvi and Rahul have not played T20 Internationals after the T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya did not leave any shortcomings while leading the Sangh.

Many young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Verma, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh etc. have performed brilliantly in Yanda’s IPL. Hey players, the doors of Team India are knocking. ODI World Cup will be held in India in the month of October this year. It is difficult to get a chance for IPL youth stars and tournament. But all these players can be part of Team India’s T20 World Cup squad to be held next year. However, if Hardik Pandya takes command and the youth union gets ready, then maybe the history of 2007 will be repeated once again, it will not be worth it.
