New Delhi: Indian table tennis player Mudit Dani has bagged the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) Male Athlete of the Year award for his exceptional performance in 2022-23. With this, Mudit has created history by becoming the first Indian to win this award. NCTTA is a national member organization of US Table Tennis and this prestigious award is given at the end of each season to the best performing male athlete at US and Canadian universities.Receiving the NCTTA Male Athlete of the Year Award, said Anandit Mudit It is an incredible honor in itself and even more so to be the first Indian to achieve it. Representing India at any level is always the most satisfying for me.
The Mumbai lad, who recently completed his Masters from the Stern School of Business at New York University, won two gold medals en route to leading his team to its second consecutive NCTTA National Championship title. Mudit’s exceptional performance also includes an unbeaten 11-0 win-loss record in the 2022-23 season. The 24-year-old Mudit had won his first ITTF senior medal in 2019 at the US Open Championships and also reached the quarterfinals of the doubles event at the WTT event in USA last year.
