TATA Motors going to install more than 10000 charging stations across the country tied-up with four charging operators
Tata Motors, has announced to set up 10,000 EV charging stations in India by 2025. Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, the electric vehicle arm of Tata Motors, has decided to work together with four EV charge point operators to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure in India. With the help of operators like Chargezone, Glida, Statiq and Zeon, Tata Motors intends to install around 10,000 new electric vehicle charging stations across the country in the next two years. For this, he has signed an agreement with these charge point operators today (11 December).
Tata Motors has sold more than 1.15 lakh electric vehicles
Tata Motors is currently the leading manufacturer in the electric passenger vehicle segment. It also has a stake in a large EV charging network in India. Tata Motors has already sold more than 1.15 lakh electric vehicles in India. Its portfolio has three electric cars like Nexon EV, Tiger EV and Tiago EV. The carmaker expects to launch at least three more electric vehicles in the next one year. As the leader in the EV segment, Tata Motors also has a large EV charging network in India with the help of Tata Power.
Tata Motors will set up EV charging stations with the help of these operators!
According to this agreement signed between Tata Motors and four charge point operators, the carmaker and the charge point operators will use the carmaker’s telematics insights for setting up these new EV charging stations. This means that Tata Motors can help these operators to set up EV charging stations where its electric cars are selling the most or are most prevalent among Tata electric vehicle owners.
Will create more than 10,000 charging points in the country by FY25
ChargeZone, Static, Zeon and Glyda, formerly known as Fortum Charge Drive India, are some of the leading EV charger operators in India. They have a combined EV charging network of around 2,000 stations spread across various cities across the country. The carmaker said that this agreement with Tata Motors will increase this number to around 12,000. Balaji Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Motors, said, “This collaboration will leverage Tata Passenger Electric Mobility’s underserved EV usage drive, as well as CPOG’s excellent charging solutions and entrepreneurial spirit, and deliver over 10,000 charging points in the country by FY25. Will make.”
Plan to launch RFID cards
Tata Motors and these four charge point operators will work together to create a smart payment gateway to make it easier for their customers to withdraw and make payments. They plan to launch RFID cards, which will be available at any charging point operated by these companies. They will also get benefits by using customer loyalty card number and absolute customer service number.
Tata has around 5,000 public EV charging stations
Currently, Tata Motors in collaboration with Tata Power has around 5,000 public EV charging stations across the country. Tata Motors and Tata Power have also launched Easy Charge Card, a touch-based RFID card. Tata Motors has also partnered with Bharat Petroleum to install 7,000 chargers in the next one year.
